Altitude is All About Attitude

We all have heard the phrase that 'Attitude is Everything'; but my contention is that your attitude is the determining factor in how high you go and how successful you are in your life; in other words, Altitude is all about Attitude!. Your attitude has a tremendous impact on the direction and path that you take in life, and it is the preeminent element in the ultimate success or lack of success that you will achieve. The attitude that you have in your life mirrors the deepest beliefs that you hold about yourself, about others and about life in general. Your attitude determines how well you meet with the trials, pitfalls, and the storms that we face in life. And attitude is a very important factor in how we influence the people that our lives touch. If our attitude is rooted in trust, positive enthusiasm, and hope for the future, then the force of the optimism is radiated out to the people around us and the entire world we live in. Likewise, if your attitude is ba...

Cornwall's Gardens

The 'Garden Capital of the World' is often how Cornwall is thought of throughout the world. Cornwall enjoys the power of the Gulf Stream with its temperate climate of warm summers, mild and wet winters which in turn allows exotic and rare plants to thrive. Where else can you find so many gardens with history dating back to the Iron Age? As long ago as the early 19th century Cornish gardeners were part of the Victorian plant hunters who collected exotic plants and seeds from all around the world. That gives us what we have today: over 60 fabulous gardens to explore with lush vegetation and sub-tropical theatres of colour brimming with exciting, rare and beautiful plants. Cornwall's gardens are found in our magnificent Castles, Manor Houses, grand Farm Estates, Mill Houses, sheltered valleys, high up on blustery moorland and nestled in woodland and seaside gardens which meet the turquoise hues of the water's edge.  www.gardenallabout.com Cornwall's ga...

What Is Writing All About?

On the very first day after Easter Holidays, my 7 year old daughter said to me: - Daddy, teacher asked us to write about our Easter Holidays and I had the best dissertation. Briefly, here's what she wrote: During my holidays I went to Lisbon with my mum. I enjoyed travelling by train and going to McDonalds as well. I also visited some relative's house, and there was a large swimming pool... - Well, pretty good. But, honey you should never lie! Let's try to make this a true story. At the very end just write - "This was only a dream". - Daddy, it was not a dream. I'll be lying anyway. Needless to say, she made me smile (almost laughing), while feeling so proud about her. Suddenly, she seemed to be somehow embarrassed, and I felt so bad about that. For my surprise and sadness, hours later I was browsing her notebook scripts again, and noted that unfortunately she had erased the whole story. My conclusion; - As adults, we are n...

Week in the Life of a Football Supporter With a Resident's Smart Card

BACKGROUND Our fan Sam, is a typical family man looking to improve his future prospects. He is thirtysomething and married with two young children. He lives with his family in rented accommodation with the local council appointed housing association. He works full time 9-5 with the local council as an HR officer and is also a part-time mature student studying Business Management two evenings per week. Sam goes to almost every home game and around 5 away games per season, but he is not a season ticket holder. He cant afford the one-off cost and does not know about the budget plan payment terms. He usually meets a friend at a local pub before home games, as he believes it is too expensive to eat and drink in the stadium. Sam has a 'Residents and Supporters' smart card issued by the local football club as part of a joint venture with the local council. The card is a Football Club Membership Card with a closed purse, a payment facility that is only valid in the sta...
